Get ready to celebrate National Volunteer Week (NVW) starting on 19 May! This year's theme, Connecting Communities, highlights the vital role volunteers play in bringing us together and enhancing our social, cultural, and economic well-being.
Special Workshop for our Volunteer Literacy Tutors
To honor this special week, we're hosting a workshop for our volunteer literacy tutors. Dr. Paul Swan will lead a session on "Connecting Concepts," focusing on helping students tackle challenging math topics. The workshop will cover the language of math, effective teaching strategies, and assessing learner needs, all while incorporating fun games and resources.
A Legacy of Volunteer Service
For over 40 years, Read Write Now has trained thousands of volunteers to tutor adults in the community who want to improve their reading and writing skills. These extraordinary volunteers, often working without much recognition, help others enhance their job prospects, support their families, and engage more fully in their communities.
Let's give a huge shoutout to all the amazing volunteers out there! Your dedication and hard work make a real difference. Thank you for being the heart and soul of our community.
Join us in celebrating National Volunteer Week 2025 and the theme of Connecting Communities. Together, we can make a difference!
